As Senior General Manager, Mr. Chandani provides management and operations oversight for open air lifestyle centers in Southern California. Raj manages The Forum Carlsbad, an elite lifestyle center in San Diego, as well as Scripps Ranch shopping center to ensure investment objectives and develop growth strategies.
Mr. Chandani is a proven leader, who is instrumental in maximizing NOI and controlling expenses, while improving the customer experience. Raj is responsible for the property’s performance, including income generation, preparation of operating budgets, monthly financial reporting to joint venture partners, management of tenant and capital improvement projects, service contract negotiations, marketing, and lease negotiations. His strong relationships with retailers and partners allow for creative solutions that meet service needs and minimize tenant vacancy.
Mr. Chandani has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and has managed over five million square feet of retail space on the West Coast, including regional assets, lifestyle centers, mixed-use developments, entertainment centers, and power centers. Prior to joining Northwood, Mr. Chandani served as a General Manager at several properties in California for both JLL and Westfield. His responsibilities included a $200M redevelopment of Westfield Valencia Town Center and a $20M redevelopment at Westfield Mission Valley. Raj specializes in re-energizing common areas to enhance customer experience and increase dwell time. He developed successful relationships with City officials to positively impact the approval of redevelopments and several incoming deals.
Mr. Chandani received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, University of Southern California. He’s a Licensed real estate broker in California. Additionally, Mr. Chandani is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
