Beauty emporium Sephora has opened a new location in Dallas, this time in East Dallas at Hillside Village, the Lakewood shopping center at Abrams Road and Mockingbird Lane.
The store opened on March 15 at 6465 E. Mockingbird Ln., next-door to Sprouts, in what was at one time a Stein Mart store, which closed in 2020.
Sephora occupies a 4,500-square-foot space, a little smaller than the chain’s traditional 5,500-square-foot footprint.
Sephora is a French retailer that sells cosmetics, skincare, body, fragrance, nail color, beauty tools, body lotions, and hair care. It stocks hundreds of name brands as well as its own private label, Sephora Collection.
This is their fifth stand-alone store in Dallas, in addition to locations in West Village, NorthPark Center, Galleria Dallas, and the Preston Royal shopping center. They also have outlets at Kohl’s stores in Mesquite, Garland, Rockwall, Forney, and Mansfield, and three more Sephora shops inside Kohl’s are coming to stores in Dallas, Denton, and Lewisville.
Amanda Lopez, Hillside Village’s marketing director, says they’re thrilled to snag another prominent multinational retailer at the shopping center.
“They’re kind of like the cherry on top of a very thoughtful tenant mix that our team has been working towards,” she says.
Hillside Village has been on a signing spree since 2021, adding a slew of new tenants such as recent additions Juiceland, an Austin-based chain that serves cold-pressed juices and smoothies, and Modern Animal, a veterinary company from Los Angeles.
“The center has a dynamic community feel, which we have been thoughtful to retain as we’ve brought in new national, regional, and local retailers and eateries,” says Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail, which acquired the center in 2017.
