A viral Nashville hot chicken spot is flapping its wings into a new Central Texas location. After months of anticipation, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken has revealed the opening date for its second Austin restaurant.
This new Hattie B’s will serve hungry shoppers and North Austin residents at the Domain Northside starting Wednesday, November 5. Guests can find the restaurant within the outdoor mall at 3100 Esperanza Crossing, Suite 130.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Hattie B’s to Domain NORTHSIDE. We love the energy, the crowd, the food scene – it all lines up with what we’re about,” Hattie B’s Co-founder Nick Bishop, Jr. said in a release.
Located at the corner of Esperanza Crossing and Rock Rose Avenue, Hattie B’s Domain Northside is a 2,300-square-foot space with 48 seats in the dining room and 58 seats on the 600-square-foot covered patio. While the size is smaller than its first Austin outpost, its design features a similar bold red, back-and-white color scheme accompanied by chicken silhouettes outlined in neon lights.
Hattie B’s now joins a slew of other new restaurants and retailers that have confirmed moves to the Domain Northside as the popular shopping center continues to grow. In March, Hattie B’s first announced that it would be expanding to Austin’s second downtown, an area Hattie B’s Co-President and Chief Financial Officer Todd Williams said the chain had been eyeing for years.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been almost two years since we first opened on South Lamar. We’ve been encouraged by how much the Austin community has supported us, and we’re excited to take the party to North Austin and serve up some heat, hospitality and a whole lot of chicken to this awesome community,” Bishop added.
Known for its Nashville-style hot sauce flavors, Hattie B’s offers a variety of tossed chicken combos from bone-in legs, thighs or wings to boneless tenders and breasts for sandwiches. Spice levels range from Southern (no heat) to Mild, Medium, Hot, Damn Hot and the spiciest Shut the Cluck Up (for enthusiasts only), according to its menu.
Customers visiting this new Hattie B’s can expect all its staples from “dirty bird fries” ($9.50) to jumbo chicken tender plates ($11.25), a classic chicken sandwich combo ($11), bacon-laced pimento cheese, southern salad and more. There will also be drinks like cold beer and cocktails as well as frozen options such as Coke and Lemonade Icees with a choice of Jack Daniel’s, Tito’s, Sailor Jerry’s or Espolon Blanco.
“Whether you’re ordering a classic chicken sandwich for lunch, refueling mid-shopping spree or kicking off a night with friends and some snacks to share, we’ve got something that hits the spot. Let’s go, Austin! We can’t wait to welcome y’all,” Morris said.
Hattie’s Domain Northside operating hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10:45 a.m. to 1 a.m.
