Prepare to be moonstruck this Halloween season for a limited time only. Join Domain NORTHSIDE on Oct. 24 as they unveil Museum of Moon, one of their most unique, jaw-dropping installations yet. To celebrate the unveiling, the center will host an electric violinist at 6 p.m. on The Lawn! Free to attend.
Museum of the Moon is a giant, 23-foot diameter inflatable spherical model of the moon created by Luke Jerram that will hang above the Lawn from Oct. 24-27 and Oct. 31-Nov. 3. Half a million times smaller than the natural satellite in the in the sky, Jerram’s moon features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. Each inch of the artwork represents eight miles of the moon’s surface. On view during center hours, Museum of the Moon offers visitors the unique opportunity to not only walk around and under the moon but also the surreal experience of viewing the dark side of the moon in three dimensions.
