Global entertainment brand expands with new Bay Area location.

Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo announced the grand opening of Pop Mart on March 14. Founded in 2010, the company is best known for sparking the Labubu craze, where an impish Chinese doll turned into a sought after collectors item after being spotted on the bags of popstars like Blackpink’s Lisa and Rihanna.

Saturday’s opening will mark Pop Mart’s fifth Bay Area store as it continues its expansion across North America. “Pop Mart has built an incredible following around the world through collectible culture, original creations and playful design,” Jacqueline Fitch-Little, senior vice president of leasing for Northwood Retail, said in a statement. “We’re excited to introduce this vibrant concept and bring a new kind of discovery to Hillsdale.”
