Two new stores are opening in a North County shopping mall this fall.
The Forum Carlsbad is adding retail companies Tecovas, which offers Western-style apparel, and Abercrombie & Fitch, an American lifestyle brand.
Tecovas, founded in Austin, TX in 2015, will open its second San Diego-area location in Carlsbad on Friday, with a weekend celebration featuring live music from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The first 50 guests in line will receive exclusive gift bags, while shoppers can experience complimentary leather stamping and branding to personalize their purchases in-store.
Abercrombie & Fitch, known for its classic denim, will debut at The Forum Carlsbad in November.

“Tecovas has been a first-mover and major catalyst in the Western category. With North County’s equestrian roots and proximity to Del Mar Racing and the Breeders’ Cup, it’s a natural fit for our community. Abercrombie & Fitch has also seen a huge resurgence, driven by its focus on fashion, merchandising, and renewed relevance through pop culture and social media. It’s a legacy brand that’s found its stride again and will be a strong addition to our retail mix,” said Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail.
The Forum Carlsbad also recently opened The Henry, which has another location in Coronado. It serves modern American eats.
