Another luxury watchmaker is setting up shop in the Domain area, further bolstering Austin’s high-end shopping scene.

TAG Heuer is opening a roughly 1,000-square-foot store in Domain Northside, located at 11700 Rock Rose Ave., Ste. 100. TAG Heuer is a Swiss watchmaker that was established in 1860 with watches priced from the low thousands into the five-figure range – the company debuted its most expensive watch a few years ago with a $376,000 price tag.

TAG Heuer is slated to open later this year, taking over the former Kiehl’ s space. Kiehl’s, a skincare company, relocated and reopened on Rock Rose Ave.

Other luxury watchmakers and jewelry designers are flooding the Domain area, which is often considered by many to be Austin’s second downtown. Hublot, Omega, David Yurman and a Rolex showroom at Zadok Jewelers are among those that have opened.

Though Austin doesn’t have as many designer brands as Dallas or Houston, the Texas capital has been wrangling in more high-end names in recent years, specifically in the Domain area. These include Cartier, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Zimmermann, Burberry and even lavish restaurants like Ema and Mexican Sugar.

Additionally, Domain Northside recently debuted an interactive Google Store – similar to an Apple store – the seventh to exist in the country. The Domain is also shedding Museum of Ice Cream, which is expected to close in July.

Domain Northside is one of Austin’s most sought-after developments and has among the highest retail rents in the city. Retail space in Austin is extremely tight, with a 97% retail occupancy rate.
