Dumplings, dim sum, and lion dancing is calling your name… It’s time to celebrate the Year of the Snake across San Mateo!

Kick things off on Saturday, Jan 25th in downtown San Mateo with a lion dance parade and stops at all your favorites, including Anton Patisserie, MY Dumpling, Taste of Sha Xian, Dough Zone San Mateo, Shuyi Grass Jelly & Tea, and Superstar Dim Sum. There’ll be community booths with family-friendly activities, red envelopes, and giveaways too.

Next, Hillsdale Shopping Center invites you to join the family-friendly 2025 Chinese New Year celebration mere moments from Bay Meadows on Saturday, February 1 from 12-3pm in the Macy’s Center Court. Hillsdale will ring in the Year of the Snake with lively Lion Dance Me Lion Dancers as showcased on America’s Got Talent, a life-sized costumed Panda, I Ching readings, acrobatics, calligraphers, the Lucky Red Envelope Scratch-off Giveaway and more!

Every celebration deserves some dim sum so be sure to get your order in at our neighboring Palette Tea Garden & Dim Sum at Hillsdale in San Mateo. Take-away or Doordash are offered direct from the website. Indoor and outdoor dining is also available for those looking to make a day of it. Attendees will also be entertained with elaborate Chinese traditional and folk dancing hosted by students of The Helen Dance Academy. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon close to home.
