The Shops at Park Lane in Dallas will be home to an IKEA by the latter part of 2025. The two-level store will be located at The Shops at Park Lane and will have a smaller, “urban format,” according to Javier Quiñones, IKEA U.S.’ CEO & Chief Sustainability Officer.
Totaling about 63,000 square feet over two floors, the store will feature over 2,200 displayed products and will have over 3,000 home furnishings available for same-day pickup. This will be the 11th IKEA location in Texas. IKEA’s North Texas stores have been located outside of Dallas, including in Grand Prairie, The Colony, and Fort Worth.
Ben Sandoval, Market Manager, IKEA U.S., noted that the Shops at Park Lane attract many visitors with its mixed-use development and proximity to Northpark Mall.
“This is how we increase the reach of IKEA,” Sandoval told D CEO. “We are developing our store to attract many visitors inspired by the IKEA range, making it easy for them to make large or small purchases.”
Sandoval said despite an accelerated shift towards e-commerce in retail, shoppers are still looking for in-person experiences, too. “That’s why our strategy to grow our business is investing heavily both in e-commerce and smaller, more accessible store formats to meet customers where they are and how they like to shop,” he said.
Leasing for The Shops at Park Lane is overseen by Northwood Retail. Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail, says IKEA’s presence will be a game changer for the retail development.
“Being situated at the top retail intersection in Dallas with NorthPark across the street, we believe IKEA will be positioned to serve the immense growth and continued densification in core Dallas, from Downtown to Uptown, Knox/Henderson, Park Cities, The Village, and all the homes within the Loop and beyond,” Kampf told D CEO. “With unique and functional designs, IKEA is a brand that touches almost every demographic and offers something that resonates with and appeals to everyone, whether SMU students, young professionals, or seasoned home buyers. It’s also promising to see IKEA focus on Dallas and Texas—it’s encouraging and really speaks to the city and state’s continued strong appeal.”
