Shake Shack first opened in North Texas in 2016 and was one of the most hyped restaurant openings of that year. Since its Dallas debut near the Crescent in Uptown, the burger chain has opened in Plano, Las Colinas, Southlake and at two Dallas addresses: at Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue and at Preston Road and Royal Lane. (The Preston-Royal shop was recently affected by a tornado and closed temporarily
The opening in Addison means that anyone living or working in Far North Dallas doesn’t have to drive as far to get this cult-following burger with a side of crinkle-cut fries.
For anyone who doesn’t understand the allure of this popular burger joint, check out a story called “What’s the deal with Shake Shack? An explainer for hungry Dallasites.” It’s a publicly traded company with a market cap in excess of $3 billion — that’s billion with a B. We called it “America’s hottest burger joint” back in 2015, and that still feels true as it continues its burger domination across Dallas’ suburbs.
In Addison, the restaurant will have a few special desserts, like Dallas Dough made with chocolate custard, marshmallow sauce and chocolate truffle cookie dough. Sounds over-the-top: How very Dallas.
Dallas Dough is available only in Addison.
The restaurant will also sell a Link Burger, which is a cheeseburger topped with a jalapeño-cheese sausage link from well-known barbecue joint Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum. The Link Burger is sold at other Shake Shacks in North Texas.
The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 at 5290 Belt Line Road (at Montfort Drive), near Flower Child and Houston’s.
