Rothy’s, a national footwear brand that uses recycled plastic bottles to manufacture shoes, opened Sept. 2. near Nordstrom at Domain Northside, 11701 Domain Blvd. Ste. 130, Austin.
The store is the first on-the-ground location in Texas.
“We fell in love with the vibrant community and art scene in Austin, and are thrilled to make [the city] our first home in Texas,” Vice President of retail Mo Vachon said.
Vachon said Rothy’s shoes, handbags and accessories are “3D knit shape with thread spun from recycled plastic bottles using a proprietary knit structure” at Rothy’s wholly owned factory. The products made from recycled plastic bottles and include shoes, bags and accessories, and have an eye on comfort and durability for men, women and children.
The 659-square-foot Austin store carries an array of shoes displayed on three walls and on consoles in the middle with ample sitting space to try on shoes.
