Director, Specialty and Alternative Revenue

Based: Austin, TX

Northwood Retail has an immediate opening for an experienced and energetic sales person to develop and direct an emerging alternative revenue program throughout the Northwood Retail portfolio of shopping centers in prime markets including Austin and Dallas.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (20%)

  • Develop, direct, and most importantly, grow all aspects of the alternative revenue program throughout the portfolio of retail properties including but not limited to: sponsorships, media sales, venue rentals, strategic partnerships, and third-party agency and media relationships.
  • Create and ultimately achieve a two-year strategic sales plan for the portfolio.
  • Work in partnership with the executive team and the property management teams to align on goals and opportunities of the program.
  • Create and maintain bi-weekly sales and progress reports and quarterly summary reports for each property that includes revenue forecasts, prospects, leads and travel schedule.
  • Identify and oversee third party relationships to grow property revenue.

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES (80%)

  • Manage the day-to-day sales functions for all properties based on the annual sales plan.
  • Generate new leads through canvassing and prospecting and by working directly with the property teams.
  • Present sponsorship packages for key assets.
  • Negotiate all aspects of the deal.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with current accounts and prospects.
  • Collaborate with other departments (marketing, leasing, etc.) to develop integrated sponsorship and media packages and future sellable opportunities.
  • Clearly communicate all program activity and deliverables to each property team for execution.
  • Ensure that all sponsor and media contractual obligations are met.
  • Attend appropriate seminars, conventions, trainings, and meetings as approved.
  • Other sales duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with a proven track record in sponsorship, strategic partnerships, and/or media sales.
  • Provide two case studies of past sponsorship deals that outline the execution of partnerships.
  • Excellent track record of successful sponsorship deals of varying types.
  • Shopping center/retail real estate/sponsorship/marketing experience is critical to position.
  • A proactive and driven self-starter.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business development, sponsorship sales, event marketing, sports and/or entertainment, tourism and/or hospitality or related field preferred.
